Beverly Jagow, 82, passed peacefully on December 13, 2023 at Edward Elmhurst Hospital. The daughter of the late Herman and Evelyn (Rodenbostel) Jagow and a lifelong resident of Forest Park IL, Beverly’s unusual life has come full circle. Her childhood and early adulthood were spent in a home at the edge of the grounds of Concordia Cemetery, where her father was the long-time superintendent. The home served as a happily busy gathering place for family events, and one of the enduring joys of Beverly’s life was hosting family and friends. She was active in the life and events of the Village and was an especially devoted member of St. John Lutheran Church. She attended St. John Lutheran Church elementary school and Walther Lutheran High School before beginning a career in the insurance industry. She ultimately retired as an account executive with Aon Insurance. Her active life was tragically interrupted on her 75th birthday when a medical condition required the amputation of one leg, changing her life dramatically. Beverly refused to accept the limitations imposed by the significant physical disability. The determination and emotional strength that she exhibited at that time was amazing to behold, but not surprising to those who knew her well. Through the struggle, she regained health, trained and used a prosthetic limb, returned to walking, driving, traveling, entertaining, and as many of the joys of her prior life as she possibly could. Supported by her deep belief in God’s hand in her life, her sunny disposition prevailed throughout her physical trials. Beverly will be deeply missed by her many Jagow and Rodenbostel cousins, by her much-loved church community, and by her dear friends and neighbors. She will be laid to rest near the home that had sparked so much joy in life.
