Brian Rice, 63, of Darien, IL, passed away December 23rd, 2021 at the age of 63 after a six-month battle with heart failure. These last few months have shown his courage in facing life challenges and his contagious positive attitude in trying times.

Brian was born on November 30th, 1958 to Orlin and Virgina (Ward) Rice in Chicago, IL. After he graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1976 he went on to study Computer Science at Bradley University. Brian continued on to be a passionate video game and software developer.

Aside from his impressive career, Brian was known to be a foodie and loved cooking for family and friends or showing them his new favorite restaurants. He had a deep love for travel and spent the last few years working remote part of the year in Costa Rica and Mexico. Brian followed in his fathers footsteps of adventure and deeply enjoyed sailing. A few of his sailing trips included destinations of San Francisco, Croatia, and Greece. He filled his free time with sand volleyball, Spanish classes, and dance lessons. Brian sure knew how to live life to the fullest.

Brian was predeceased by his father, Dr. Orlin Rice; mother, Virginia Rice. He is survived by his daughter, Brittany (Nicholas Poe) Rice; sister, Shannon Nyhart; brother, Craig (Lucy) Rice; niece, Ashley (Erin) Nyhart Mullholland; nephew, Joshua Nyhart; nephew, Liam Rice.
