Curtis R. Case

August 16, 1931 ~ May 23, 2021 (age 89)


Curtis Rodney Case of River Forest, Illinois passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the age of 89. Curtis was the loving brother of the late Jacqueline Farago and Karen Morrison. He was born to Gladys Rodney and George Case in New York in 1931. The family soon moved to Oak Park, Illinois where Curt attended Mann School and Oak Park and River Forest High School. He proudly played football for the OPRFHS team and was always a great friend to all who knew him..

As a young man, Curtis served in the Air Force during the Korean Crisis. He enjoyed participating in many Veteran ceremonies throughout his life. Curtis and his family are the descendants of an American Founding Father, Caesar Rodney,who signed the Declaration of Independence for Delaware

Curtis was the loving husband of Phyllis (Butler) who passed away at a young age due to a stroke. He is survived by his three children Mary (Robert), Curtis Jr., and Colette (Antonio). His grandchildren adored him and will miss him greatly. He is Papa to John, Madeleine, Maura, Beth, Ray, Rebecca, Rachel, Mary, Caiti, Meaghan and Fabio. He is a proud great grandpa to William, Clara, June, Frances, Brooks and Hugo

While raising their family, Phyllis and Curt served with Carondelet, led the Cub Scouts at St Edmund’s, and directed Religious Education for hundreds of children of St Edmund Parish in Oak Park for many years.

Curtis later married Patricia Uchison and embraced her children and grandchildren. Patricia passed away in 2011.

Dad will forever be remembered as a kind man with a great sense of humor who loved to spend time with his family. Hischildren and grandchildren will forever remember his songs, his cheering at their soccer and baseball games and his love for welcoming others into his home.
