On October 12, 2021, David William Smith, devoted and loving father,
son, and brother went to be with our Lord at the age of 52 following
complications with the Flu.
David was born on April 18, 1969, to Bernard and Carole Smith in

developed his small town ethics and morals along with his willingness to
help others. Following graduation from Carthage High School, he
attended Texas A&M University where he became interested in
Computer Information Technology. Following graduation, his career
path led him through Dallas and Houston prior to going to Chicago. At
the time of his death, he was a Manager in the Technology Enablement
Center for Sirius Computer Solutions in Chicago, IL.
David had one son, Jacob Logan Smith, age 16, to whom he dedicated
his life. They enjoyed many activities together, most of all, the Boy
Scouts of America. David was an influential leader and teacher who
inspired all of the boys he worked with, and helped Logan achieve the
rank of Star Scout so far. David and Logan both enjoyed martial arts as
well, both earning their black belts in Taekwondo.
David was a supporter of St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in
Memphis, TN.
David enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He always had a
smile on his face and was a joy to be around. He was loved immensely
and an inspiration to all. He will be sorely missed. His legacy will live
