Edward J. Taube Jr. was born on August 24th 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. Ed grew up in Lincoln, Illinois. Then he moved to and lived in Chicago. He came to Aspire on 4/6/1976 for residential placement and in 1980, he moved into the SLA program where he obtained his own apartment and eventually moved to Forest Park. Ed loved animals especially cats and he had several of them over the years named Herman, Sunshine, and Marilyn Monster. Ed also loved to joke around with everyone he met. Over the years, he met so many different people and was able to maintain close relations with some of them. Ed enjoyed going to eat at Thyme and Honey restaurant and Louie's Grill restaurant almost every day. Ed would also walk up and down Madison Street and got to know most of the merchants over time. Ed also worked at different places over the years but was able to retire from the State of Illinois/ Madden facility after 25 years of custodial work. He was a good man who enjoyed his life. He has touched many peoples' lives and will be missed by all who knew him.
