Elizabeth "Betty" Zimmerman

Betty Zimmerman,  née Neubauer, died November 19, 2023 at Asbury Gardens Skilled Care in North Aurora. She was 95.

She was one of five sisters born to John and Lillian Neubauer in Chicago. A graduate of St. Paschal grade school and Steinmetz High School, she moved to Forest Park, Illinois, met her husband, the late Fred, the "Silver Fox" of the Forest Park Police Department for over 30 years. They raised and generously educated two children, Terry and Fred (Cathy). She was the loving grandmother of two, Lydia and Freddy, and the cherished aunt of many.

Her working life grew through later education and training and gave her a successful career as a tax preparer and Enrolled Agent. But her volunteering with Scouts and with her children's schools was undiminished. And she and Fred still had time to be a popular couple in their small town's social life!

Final arrangements to bid her farewell are private. The family will celebrate and tell "Betty stories" at a later date.
