Gerardo Garza Obituary

Gerardo "G" Garza, a cherished soul known for his humor and adventurous spirit, passed away on September 1, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on April 15, 1955, in Laredo, Texas, G was a beacon of peace and passion in the lives of all who knew him. He left this world as he lived in it, surrounded by the music he loved and the family who adored him.

G is survived by his loving wife, LuAnne Garza; his sons, Adam Sam and Sam Garza; his caring siblings, Guadalupe (Allan) Cook, Larry (Cindy) Garza, and Rachel Garza. Preceded in death by his parents, Lazaro and Nasaria Garza, and his brother, Esequiel Garza, G's memory will be kept alive by the host of relatives and friends who were blessed to know him.

A proud alumnus of Lake View High School in Chicago, G carried the work ethic and team spirit of his youth into his career. For 40 years, he was a dedicated Super Shipper at Palmer Printing Inc. and also served as a reliable Package Handler at UPS. His colleagues knew him as a man who could be counted on, always ready with a joke to lighten the load.

G's love for life was evident in his many interests. He had an undying passion for playing the bass guitar, and his love for the blues and 60's rock and roll was infectious. A cold beer, a good smoke, and the great outdoors were his simple pleasures. He reveled in camping, grilling, biking, hiking, and taking road trips that filled his heart with joy. An avid reader, G lost himself in thriller novels and was always up for a heart-pounding action movie.

Those who knew G will remember him as funny, adventurous, and passionate. He had a knack for making people laugh and a zest for life that inspired everyone around him. In the words of Mark Twain, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started." G embodied this sentiment, never hesitating to dive into his next adventure or to lend a hand to someone in need.

G's legacy is not only in the lives he touched but also in the laughter he shared, the adventures he embarked upon, and the love he spread. He will be deeply missed, and his memory will continue to guide and uplift those who were fortunate enough to have been part of his remarkable journey. As we say goodbye to Gerardo "G" Garza, we take comfort in knowing that his story is one of a life well-lived and well-loved.
