Obituary

James M. Thompson, a resident of Forest Park for 50 years, passed away on 2/14/23 at the age of 81.  He is survived by his loving wife Kathy of almost 60 years, his daughter Jill, son Steven (Debbie) and Grandfather to two wonderful Grandchildren Emma and Abby.

Born in Chicago James enjoyed traveling to Wisconsin, following his favorite sporting events, and listening to oldies. James was extremely proud of his children and loved to follow their progress and their achievements leading to their successful careers. He loved to call and sing happy birthday without fail and it became an annual tradition for us all.  James and Kathy were also longtime crossing guards for the Village of Forest Park and truly loved their work with the kids.  The children and parents affectionately called him “Mr. Jim” and Mr. Jim loved keeping the kids safe.

Due to his personal wishes no public events are planned. James wished to be cremated and his ashes will rest in peace with his wife.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor and are deeply appreciated. (www.heart.org or www.cancer.org)
