James “Jim” Joseph Corbeil (63) of Chicago, Illinois, passed away suddenly on May 3rd, 2024. Jim was born to Edmond and Barbara Corbeil on March 17th 1961 in Oak Park, IL. While attending Oak Park River Forest High School, he excelled in numerous sports. Jim went on to attend University of Nebraska where he played linebacker for the Cornhuskers.
Jim is survived by sister, Trish Corbeil. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Deborah, and four children, Elizabeth (35), James (33), Robert (30), and Caroline (Trevor) Smith (28), as well as his first grandson, Hudson.
For over 30 years, Jim has worked as an engineer for Cook County. He is described as being the definition of generosity; giving all that he could to anyone who came across his path. His generosity was only surpassed by his big heart.
Jim’s family will host a funeral service on Monday, May 13th, 2024 at 3:00pm. Visitation will be held from 3 pm - 6 pm and service from 6 pm- 7 pm at Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home in Forest Park, IL
