Jennifer Robinson

On September 7, 2024, Jennifer Marie Robinson passed away peacefully at the age of 52 after bravely battling Lupus and Uterine cancer. Born March 17, 1972 Jenny was the beloved daughter of Bonnie and the late Richard Robinson, loving sister of Michelle Robinson and Kimberly (Brian) Schiff. She was the cherished aunt of Emily (Austin) Dodson and the great-aunt to Presley Jayne Marie Dodson who was entering into this world just as Jenny passed away. 

Jenny attended Lincoln Elementary, Emerson Junior High, and Oak Park and River Forest High School (Class of 1990), in Oak Park, IL. She also completed coursework at Triton College in River Grove, IL. She was a life-long and active member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Forest Park, IL. Jenny was a member of the vocal choir as well as the handbell choir.  She was a Sunday school teacher, helped coordinate Vacation Bible School and also was a trainer for our youth acolytes.  Prior to the decline of her health, Jenny served the congregation in her role as Chair for the Board of Youth Ministry.  She organized and led the youth group meetings, activities, Bible studies and a number of fundraising events.  The goal of the fundraising was so the youth of St John’s would have the same opportunity she did when she was their age, which was to attend and be a part of the LCMS National Youth Gathering.  Under Jenny’s leadership, well over 50 young adults attended were able to travel (in some cases, more than once) to Louisiana, Minnesota and/or Texas to share their faith with peers from across the country!  

Over the years, Jenny was employed by St. John Forest Park Daycare and Oak Park River Forest High School as the ticket coordinator for the theater department, but her passion was in working with children.  Jenny devoted her life to providing childcare to working families, friends, and neighbors. She touched countless lives not only caring for the children but being a friend and support system to the entire family.  Jenny is survived by her beloved immediate and extended family, church family, and many friends.

Services for Jenny will be held on December 21, 2024 at St. John Church, 305 Circle Ave., Forest Park, IL. with a visitation from 10 – 11 am and service beginning at 11 am.
