Lenore Raboy Obituary

Lenore (Tabachneck) Raboy passed away on December 1, 2020 at the age of 78 in Northlake, Illinois. Lenore was born April 29,1942 in Albany, New York to David and Flora (Simonovitz) Tabachneck. Lenore and her extended family were active members of Congregation Ohav Shalom. Growing up, summers were spent relaxing with her brother, cousins and family at Helderberg Lake. Lenore attended the State University of New York at Buffalo where she met her former husband, Michael Raboy. In addition to Albany and Buffalo, Lenore resided in Aberdeen and Montgomery Village, Maryland and Oak Park, Illinois. Lenore was a keen office assistant, with a sharp eye for numbers, working in dental and medical offices for much of her life. She loved reading, crossword puzzles and shopping for herself and with friends and family. Finding meaningful gifts brought her great joy. She hosted numerous fun get-togethers with family and friends at her Faber Court house, relished by all. More recently, she enjoyed cooking and playing games with her daughter and grandchildren in Oak Park. Her organizational skills were top notch, famously aided by colorful sets of pens and writing pads. She is remembered as a dedicated volunteer at her children’s school and in their extracurricular activities, a loyal friend and adept listener to many, great with advice for those seeking it, and for her wonderful cooking. Anyone lucky enough to have sat around the kitchen table with her was always better for the experience. But above all, Lenore was a devoted grandmother, closely following the lives of her four grandchildren with great interest and love. Lenore is survived by her children Stephanie Raboy and her husband Rudy Kratz and by Becky Raboy and her husband Alain Dabdoub; her grandchildren Olivia and Chloe Kratz and Alexandra and Joseph Dabdoub; her brother Alan Tabachneck, and many dear cousins, friends and in-laws who cared for her very much. In recent years, Lenore had several kind and attending caregivers looking after her, including Flora Fait, to whom we are very thankful. A memorial service will be held at a later date. If anyone wishes to make a memorial donation, we suggest the American Heart Association https://www.heart.org/en/get-involved/ways-to-give.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
