Margaret L. (Fitzgerald) Dreyer

In the early morning hours of August 4, 2023, our mother, sister, friend departed this life for her last and greatest journey.  For the very first time she packed light.  Margaret (Peggy) spent her childhood in Forest Park attending St. Bernadine's School and graduating from Trinity High. She met and married Ernest Dreyer and together they settled in Wheaton.  Peggy was a dedicated travel agent and enthusiastic traveler, and an avid science fiction fan.  She has surely been welcomed to Heaven by her husband Ernest, mother Hattie Dunbar, father Gerard Fitzgerald, brother Jimmy Fitzgerald and cherished pup companions Ollie, Pepper, Suzie Q. and Becky.  She survives through her daughter Colleen Dreyer Diers, son Ernest Jr., sister Noreen, grand-dogs Juniper Berry and Zippy, and many nieces and nephews.  Our family wishes to thank those nurses and aides who provided compassionate care to Mom at Bella Terra, Schaumburg and in her final days at Ascension Hospice in Elk Grove Village.  Visitation Friday (Aug. 11) 4:00 - 8:00pm at Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home 7319 W. Madison St., Forest Park.  Funeral prayers 9:30 am Saturday (Aug 12)  processing to St. Bernardine Catholic Church where a Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:00am.
