Margaret Zwadlo Obituary

Margaret Mary Zwadlo, a cherished sister, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, at the age of 78 in LaGrange, Illinois. Born on January 17, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to Mitchell and Helen (Ozga) Zwadlo, Margaret's life was one of vibrant creativity and steadfast dedication to her community.

Margaret's early education took place at Wicker Park Elementary School, followed by Tuley High School. She furthered her education at Triton College and continued to pursue her passion for art by taking classes at the Oak Park Art League. Her love for art was not just a hobby but a significant part of her life that she shared with others through her involvement with the West Suburban Artists Guild.

Professionally, Margaret made her mark at the First National Bank of Chicago and later at Booz Allen, where she was known for her meticulous work and warm collegiality. Her colleagues remember her as a loving and supportive presence, always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word.

Margaret's interests extended beyond the canvas; she was an avid genealogist, tracing her family's roots and connecting with relatives near and far. Her love for card games, particularly pinochle, was well-known, and she could often be found playing at the Howard Mohr Community Center, where her laughter and competitive spirit were infectious.

Her artistic talents were recognized in several art exhibitions, including those at the Oak Park Housing Center and the Raymond James Investment firm. These events were a testament to her skill and dedication to her craft, and they allowed her to connect with fellow artists and art enthusiasts alike.

Margaret was preceded in death by her loving parents, Mitchell and Helen Zwadlo, her brothers Richard and Eugene Zwadlo, and sister-in-law Brenda (Raftery) Zwadlo. She is survived by her brother Ronald Zwadlo and many cousins who will miss her dearly. Her family remembers her as the loving heart of their gatherings, always bringing joy and a sense of togetherness to every occasion.

Margaret's life was a beautiful tapestry of art, family, and community service. Those who knew her will remember her loving nature, her passion for art, and her dedication to her family's history. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched with her kindness and the beautiful artworks she created. Margaret Mary Zwadlo will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to inspire all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
