Marjorie Ann E. Benedict nee Eggerding, of River Forest, Illinois died August 8, 2012 in her home after a short illness. She was born on April 11, 1931, in Le Roy Township, Iowa to Ferdinand and Emily Eggerding, Marjorie spent her younger years in Luzerne, Iowa where her father was the schoolmaster at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Her family moved to Maywood, Illinois and she graduated from Proviso High School. She was a talented administrator and various employers included The Appraisal Institute, Norman Benedict Associates, Inc., Olson Brothers Construction Co. and for notably 25 years as the Church Secretary at St. John's Lutheran Church, Forest Park, IL. Marjorie was a beautiful, warm and caring person who positively touched the lives of her family, friends, and colleagues. Some of her interests included crossword puzzles, reading (especially mysteries), attending church functions, visiting with her family and friends, and her annual visit to her son's home in Connecticut. Marjorie is survived by her son, Norman (N.R.) Benedict; daughter-in-law, Kathy; grandsons Caleb and Ross; brother, Roland Eggerding; and many nieces, nephews and family members. Visiting hours will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on August 13, 2012 at Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home in Forest Park, IL. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on August 14, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church in River Forest, IL. Entombment Concordia Cemetery.
