Mary Carolyn Bennett passed away peacefully in the night on November 24,2025 following a short battle with colon cancer. She leaves us after 95 fulfilling years. Blessing each one of us with her company.
Mary was Born on March 3,1930 in Kansas City Mo. To her mother Jennie Marolt and Father August Marolt. Mary was the eldest of 3.
Shortly after her birth the Marolt Family moved out of Mo. And to Melrose Park, Il. A place Mary called home for most of her childhood. In high School Mary Attended Immaculate Conception (IC) in Elmhurst. The Family Later buying their first home in Elmhurst where she lived with her 2 younger brothers Gary and Michael.
Mary met Gerald (Jerry) Bennett in her early 20’s and following a brief courtship were married on June 14, 1952. It didn’t take long for them to settle down in Forest Park, IL., the town they would call home for over 73 years and raise their 3 children.
For the last 47 years you could find Mary working alongside her best friend Cynthia Czosnyka, shampooing and socializing withcustomers before Cindy would style them. Whether it was at Fresh Image or Always In Style, Mary was loved for her “magic hands” and endearing personality. Our Family is, and foreverwill be, grateful to Cindy for the friendship she gave to Mary. One that you don’t find often, an one you cherish like Mary did.
Mary Found peace, strength and guidance through her Catholic faith and she made sure to hold it as a cornerstone of her life.
When she wasn’t working or practicing her faith, she found joy in reading, the theater, trying new cuisines and quality time spent with loved ones. She was always willing to try something new if it meant a shared experience between her and her grand and great grandchildren.
Mary was the loving wife of the late Gerald Bennett. Beloved Mother to her 3 Children Dale Bennett (Shelia) , Gale Garces (late Paul) and Tina Sweda (Jeff).
