Mary Hogan (née Gleason) passed away peacefully in the presence of loved ones on June 17, 2022, at the age of 87. A Minnesota native with nine siblings, Mary moved to Chicago in 1956 after marrying her late husband, John E. Hogan. She will forever be remembered as a master seamstress with sharp wit, for her generosity and astute guidance, as the life of the party no matter the occasion, and as a consummate matriarch of her family (both blood-related and chosen).
Mary was the proud mother of Kenneth E. (Roberta) Hogan, Karen (Frank S.) Dylewski, Tim (Mary) Hogan, and John F. Hogan; prouder grandmother of Kenneth R. (Colleen) Hogan, Frank G. Dylewski, Diana (Max) Puente, Jessica (Anthony) Girardi, and Emily Hogan; and even prouder great-grandmother of Connor Hogan, Liam Hogan, and Niccolo Puente. She was deeply beloved by all privileged enough to meet her and filled a quintessential “grandma” role for many throughout her life.
