Mcristle was born July 19, 1948 in Grenada, M.S. She was the youngest of ten children born to the union of Willie Mister, Sr. & Millie Mister (Conley). Her siblings were: Rufus, Robert, Estelle (Sellie Edwards), Willie Jr., Iola, John, Irotha, Ezra Macarthur, Lynn, and John R. Mcristle was affectionatelyknown as “Cristle” or “Ann” by family and friends. Mcristle accepted Christ at an early age and was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chicago, Il.
She met and married her former spouse, John C. Ross. To this union were born two children, Biron D. and Kimon L. Ross.
Mcristle graduated from John Marshall High School and obtained her associate degree from Wilbur Wright College. She had a near forty-year career as a juvenile detention officer at the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center where she was a passionate and tireless advocate for the rights and equitable treatment of children and staff.
Mcristle was preceded in death by her parents (Willie & Mille Mister), one sister, Iola, and four brothers: Willie Jr., Rufus, Robert, and Ezra MacArthur.
Mcristle was fiercely independent, vibrant, and unconditionally loving. Her kind heart, radiant smile, and indomitable spirit left a mark upon all fellow travelers in her life’s journey. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her two sons, Biron (Ayana Ross) and Kimon, two sisters, Estelle and Irotha, and three brothers, John, John R., and Lynn. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Kyle, Kiersan, Sabbath, Sojourner, Schylar, and Solomon, and a host of relatives and friends. She will be forever missed.

In loving memory of the life and legacy of Mcristle Ann Ross, two things that were of great importance to her were the education and well-being of her grandchildren. To that end, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, you consider contributing to the college fund of Kyle and Kierson. We thank you in advance for your expression of sympathy and love.
