Richard "Dick" Schornstein passed away in early March at the age of 95 after a long and full life. He was born on April 7,1931 to Edward and Althea (King) Schornstein and spent his early years in the Mounds Park neighborhood of St Paul, MN . His family later moved to Brainerd, MN where he attended high school, lettering in basketball. Following high school, he entered the military and was stationed in post-war Europe. Upon his return home, he married his high school sweetheart Rosemary and they moved to the Twin Cities where he worked for many years at International Multifoods. They were longtime members of Resurrection (now Our Lady of Peace) Parish and enjoyed spending time with family, friends and neighbors.
For many years Dick could be found on the golf course, the tennis court or playing bridge. After his beloved wife's death in 2014, he moved to Oak Park, IL where he made his home at the senior residence Brookdale and later at Belmont Village which deserves a special thank you for his care.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary(Magnan), parents Edward and Althea, brother Ed Schornstein(Betty), sister Jan Satre(Paul) and nephew, Tom Schornstein. He is survived by daughter Catherine Schornstein, son-in-law David Thomas, grandchildren Hilary Thomas and Ethan Thomas (Lauren) and nephews John Schornstein, Bill Satre and JimSatre. There will be a private celebration of his life.
