Robert J. Reilly

Robert "Bob" Reilly, 86, of Forest Park, passed away Monday, February 24, 2020, at Hines VA Hospital with family at his side.
Born in Oak Park, he attended Oak Park River Forest High School and married his high school sweetheart, Mary Fuller, June 11, 1955, shortly after he returned from serving in the Marines in the Korean War. Though she attended Proviso High School, they met at their church youth group at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Oak Park and he was active in his Christian faith throughout his life.
Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who supported his family, including support for his wife's nursing career. He held a variety of jobs, including running his own small trucking business where his son Steve also worked. He was blessed with a green thumb and enjoyed gardening throughout his life. His sense of humor stayed with him through his challenges with Parkinson's, poor health, and losses of loved ones.
Bob is survived by the younger two of their four children: Timothy and his sons, Timothy Joseph "TJ" and Tyler Robert; and Sharon Schneeweiss and her two daughters, Meghan and Molly. He is also survived by his son Dan's daughters: Diana Reilly and her daughter Gabriela; Denise Dorman, her husband Frankie, and their three children, twins Daniel and Dakota and son Noah; Danielle Reilly and her son Mason; and Dana Reilly-Fritts, her husband Joe Fritts, and their children, sons Thomas John "Tommy" and Lucas Joseph "LJ".
Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary; his sons Stephen and Daniel; his grandchild Madelyn "Maddy" Reilly, and his brothers Herbert and Arthur.
Visiting hours will be at Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home 7319 W. Madison St., Forest Park, IL, at 10 AM on Monday, March 16. A service at noon will be followed by burial at Forest Home Cemetery.
