Rosario Valencia Arana

Rosario Valencia Arana, also known to family and close friends as "Rosie" was called home to rest on December 29, 2019 at the age of 81.

Rosie was born on October 7, 1938 in the Philippines to the late Felimon & Camila (Borbe) Valencia. She was a loving sister of the late Filomena "Menie" Valena, the late Feliciano "Esing" Valencia, the late Salvador "Badong" Valencia, and the late Felimon Jr. "Totie" Valencia. Rosie is survived by her son Derick Arana of Chicago, IL, her grandsons Sterling and Weston Arana, and her former spouse George "Darrie" Arana of Baguio City, Philippines.

During her retirement from Signature Group Insurance Company F/K/A Montgomery Wards, she discovered her love for playing slot machines at casinos. She adored her grandsons and loved spending time with them. She also loved her dogs.

Tita Rosie, as she was called by her nephews and nieces, will always be remembered for her generosity, thoughtfulness, beautiful smile, infectious laugh and her warm & kind heart. She will be greatly missed by her son, sisters-in-law, grandsons and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial visitation is scheduled for Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 10AM-12PM at the Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home in Forest Park, IL, with a memorial service to follow from 12PM-2PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rosario's life.
