Ruth Ahnert

Ruth Ahnert, 84, passed away on April 30, 2020 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. Born in Chicago, Illinois, she had resided in Berwyn, IL prior to moving to Fanwood, NJ 50 years ago.
Ruth received a Bachelor of Arts in English and German from Valparaiso University and a Master's Degree in Library Sciences from Rutgers University. She had worked as a librarian with the New York Public Library and with the Fanwood Public Library.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Ahnert, who died on April 15, 2020. She is survived by her son, Michael Ahnert of Hackettstown, NJ; and her daughter, Sara Herbine on Doylestown, PA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Allison, Jack, and Luke Herbine.
Private serviced were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home, 155 South Ave., Fanwood, NJ. Interment took place at Concordia Cemetery in Forest Park, Illinois.
