Sandra E. (Remus) Boy

Sandra Ellen Remus Boy, age 84, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026. Born on August 14, 1941, Sandra lived a full and meaningful life rooted in family, service, learning, travel, and love. Formerly of Forest Park, Illinois, and later of Marco Island, Florida, she carried with her the friendships, traditions, and memories of the communities she called home.

Sandra and her beloved husband, Bud, shared a love of adventure that took them across five continents, several countries, and nearly all 50 states. Together, they built a lifetime of memories through travel, family, and the joy of experiencing the world side by side.

A proud graduate of Morton High School, Sandra went on to earn an Associate Degree from Morton College. She was also certified at Chicago City Colleges by the American Society of Clinical Pathology and continued to nurture her curiosity and love of learning by attending countless lectures at Triton College.

Sandra’s professional life reflected her commitment to health, community, and helping others. She served as a Health Inspector for the Village of Forest Park and later retired from the American Cancer Society after 25 years as a Field Representative. Even beyond her career, she remained deeply dedicated to the American Cancer Society, volunteering for fundraising efforts such as Relay for Life and Reach to Recovery for more than 10 years and helping raise hundreds of thousands of dollars toward cancer research.

After retiring, Sandra made her home on Marco Island, Florida, where she continued to lead and serve. She became President of the Palm Paradise Condominium Association, a role she held for 16 years, guiding the community through nine hurricanes with strength, dedication, and care.

Sandra generously gave her time and talents to many organizations, including For the Love of Cats, Bedtime Bundles, the Marco Island Historical Society, the Marco Island Chamber of Commerce, Christmas Box Angel, and St. Mark’s Church. An avid crocheter, she created and donated hundreds of blankets and hats for pediatric cancer patients and residents of assisted living facilities, offering comfort and warmth through every stitch.

Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 50 years, Howard W. “Bud” Boy, Jr.; her son, John Howard Boy; her grandson, John Thomas Boy; her parents, John and Marie (Randula) Remus; and her aunt, Sandra Krakora.

She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Janine (Boy) Parisi, Claudine Boy, and Michelle (Dan) Venske; her grandchildren, Danielle Boy, Jason Brown and Daniela Venske; and her great-grandchildren, Rylan and Jaxon Loveless and Ariana Sabye. Her family was central to her life, and the love she gave will continue to live on through each of them.

Sandra will be remembered for her generous heart, steady strength, lifelong curiosity, and devotion to making life better for others. Whether through her work, volunteer service, leadership, handmade gifts, travels, or the love she poured into her family, she leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and purpose.
