Sebastian Rivera Obituary

Sebastian Rivera Jr., age 64, passed away peacefully at his home in
Oak Park on November 16, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 6, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, to Sebastian and Alicia
Rivera, Sebastian lived a life full of joy, laughter, and generosity.
He was known to be slow to anger and quick to forgive.  A proud
graduate of Quigley North High School, he went on to attend DePaul
University. On June 7, 1993, he married the love of his life,
Elizabeth Feldman, whom he affectionately called “Lizzie.”

Sebastian was a joyful and selfless man, always ready with a joke or a
helping hand. He loved Chicago sports, cherished the outdoors, and
brought laughter to every gathering. Most recently his greatest joy
came from spending time with his beloved grandson and “new best
friend,” Christopher.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth; his son, John; his
daughters, Regina and Grace; and his cherished grandson, Christopher.
He is also survived by his siblings: Eddie Ortiz (Myrta), Carmen Keane
(Frank), Mayra Flores (Nelson), Sandra Rivera (Nancy) and Denise.

Sebastian leaves behind an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins,
nieces, nephews, in-laws, and countless friends. His absence will be
deeply felt, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew
and loved him.
