Theresa Rosemary Pingatore

Theresa Rosemary Kirchue was born in Niagara Falls New York on March 9, 1925. She is a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. While working for a local attorney, she accompanied her close friend Aggie to the hospital to visit Aggie's uncle Sam Pingatore who, after his discharge as a decorated wounded Army Private, was suffering a recurrence of malaria which he had contracted during his combat service in New Guinea. Sam and Theresa were married in Niagara Falls on June 27, 1945, and moved to Chicago where he had grown up, and where he still had family members.

Theresa worked for many years at Kemper insurance Company as an underwriter. After her retirement, she took a course at Rosary College to qualify as a CCD instructor at her church where she also served on the Altar Guild, and as a Eucharistic Minister. She was an ardent member and treasurer of the Italian-Catholic Federation. She and her husband attended many 41st Army Division Conventions all over the US, and enjoyed their numerous trips to Europe.

Theresa was an expert at all kinds of needlework, and a gourmet cook. She gardened and played cards often with her lady friends, attended opera productions with her husband, and enjoyed plays and concerts with her daughter. She had learned to play the piano during her daughter's early lessons. She loved babysitting many of her young nieces and nephews. Her great joy were her grandsons Joshua Pingatore and William Olderr, and her great-grand-daughter Molly Olderr.
