Obituary
Thomas Joseph Hickey III, 81, passed away on December 30, 2021, in River Forest, IL. Born in Chicago, Illinois, July 26, 1940, he is survived by his sister, Carolyn Wesenberg, niece, Tristin Wesenberg, and grandniece, Hailey Wesenberg.
Tom Hickey served as 2nd Lieutenant on board the Aircraft Carrier, USS Ticonderoga, during the Vietnam War. After the war, he graduated from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin with Master’s Degree in Business Management & Economics. He studied philosophy of science at Notre Dame University for a PhD without obtaining the degree due to philosophical differences. He went on to author two books. Twentieth Century Philosophy of Science was first published in 1995 and Philosophy of Science-An Introduction’ 3rd Edition was published in 2016.
Born and raised in Oak Park, IL, Tom graduated from Fenwick High School. Ultimately becoming a longtime resident of River Forest, IL. He served many terms as President of his Condominium Association.
