William Manson Obituary

William (Bill) Manson, age 62, passed away on October 12, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on September 19, 1963, in Oak Park, Illinois, Bill was the son of Robert and Ruth Manson. He grew up in the Chicago area, attending Byford Grade School in the Austin area, later attending Custer School and Lincoln Junior High in Berwyn. He graduated from Morton West High School in 1981.

Bill earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics and Operations Research from the University of Illinois–Chicago in 1985, followed by an MBA in Finance from the same university in 1991. Bill worked for many years in the financial industry and retired from TradeStation early in 2025, where he was a valued Client Services Trader.

Bill loved to travel, especially with his beloved partner, Sarah. A passionate sports fan, he was a lifelong supporter of the Chicago Blackhawks and, more recently, the Florida Panthers. Throughout his life, he enjoyed attending countless Cubs, Blackhawks, Bears, White Sox, Bulls, and Panthers games.

He also had a deep love of music, and was a big Bruce Springsteen fan with Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen concerts ranking among his all-time favorites.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Manson; his mother, Ruth G. Manson (née Anderson); and his brother, Kenneth R. Manson. He is survived by his life companion, Sarah Gadelha; his sister, Leslie Manson; his brother, John Manson (Liz); his nieces, Aubrey Marchenko (Dimitry) and Lisa Christensen (Brian); and his great-nieces and great-nephew.

A memorial visitation will be held for Bill at Zimmerman-Harnett Funeral Home, 7319 Madison Street, Forest Park, Illinois, on Saturday, November 15, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at Fitzgerald’s Sidebar, 6615 Roosevelt Road, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Bill’s spirit lives on in the laughter he shared, the love he gave, and the many lives he touched. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
