William “Bill” Barry Tibbetts, born August 23, 1952, passed away peacefully at the age of 73, surrounded by family on March 18, 2026. Bill lived a full and joyful life, making the most of every moment—whether during his 31 years as a dedicated UPS truck driver or creating memories with his beloved grandchildren.
He was raised by the late Anna Tibbetts and Raymond Tibbetts, preceded in death by his brother Raymond Tibbetts and survived by his brother Thomas Tibbetts. Bill was a proud father to Mandy Ford (Jim) and Megan Gabriel (Jeff), but his favorite role was being Papa. His grandchildren Jw, Lilah, Lilly, Colton, Rylee, Haylee, and Lexie were the light of his life. He never missed a chance to make them laugh, wrap them in his signature bear hugs, or remind them how much they meant to him. The memories he created with them will be cherished forever.
Bill loved the outdoors, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the many dogs he cared for over the years. His collections—NASCAR memorabilia, records, and his snow village—reflected his joy in life’s simple pleasures.
He enjoyed Popeye’s chicken, a Coke Zero (which he rarely shared), and his famously questionable love for liver and onions. Music was always part of his life, and he was never shy about dancing or telling a good truck driving or fishing trip story—especially if it meant making his family smile and laugh.
He will be remembered as a devoted father, a proud Papa, and a friend to many. His love, laughter, and the memories he created will live on in all who knew him—especially in the hearts of his family, who will always carry a piece of his joy with them.
Services held privately.
